Interoperability and effective exchange of data in modern industrial automation

FIIF Event: OPC-UA concentrated on interoperability and effective exchange of data in modern industrial automation. OPC (Open Platform Communications by the OPC Foundation) is an interoperability standard for secure and reliable exchange of data in the industrial automation space and in other industries. It is platform independent and ensures seamless flow of information among devices from multiple vendors. OPC-UA (OPC United Architecture) is a collection of technologies that ensure a secure transfer of standardized information from the sensor to the cloud.

This seminar gave information both on current OPC-UA usage and future development trends.

Program:

“Introduction to OPC-UA”  Jouni Aro, Prosys

“Standardizing data collection in Helen energy production using OPC-UA” Veli-Pekka Salo, Wapice

“OPC-UA based simulation-aided automation testing of a cruise ship LNG system” Gerardo Santillan, Semantum

”OPC UA Application level security: access rights and permissions” Mika Karaila,  Valmet Automation

The seminar was organized in co-operation with Suomen Automaatioseura. The presentations are available for FIIF partners in Partner section.
